The Bridge Academy Receives Accreditation from The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators! | |
We are proud to announce that The Bridge Academy has been awarded accreditation from The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. This has been a rigorous process over the course of three years. The OG Academy required a review and on-site evidence of multiple areas of a school’s program and instructional staff. The Bridge Academy is only the 10th school in the nation to join this elite list! This highly effective aproach to teaching language serves as the foundation of our instruction at The Bridge Academy. The principles of OG are applied in all content areas which has resulted in unprecedented gains for our students. For additional information please visit www.ortonacademy.org. |

Our Art Exercises workbook provides teachers with a resource to help students practice the strokes of cursive handwriting in a creative, engaging format and see the practical applications in a form well accepted by the students. Sarah Bernotas developed the workbook to complement the handwriting strokes taught through the Orton Gillingham Approach used throughout The Bridge Academy. Since fluency in cursive handwriting continues to be cited through research as an asset for students in their writing, using drawing strokes to complement the cursive writing program achieves this balance and strengthens their motor connections. |
