What Is The Bridge Academy Annual Fund?

Supports all school operations including educational material, technology, professional development, benefits, etc. To help us reach our Annual Fund goal of $50,000 for the 2009-2010 school year, we have again received a challenge grant of $10,000. To meet this challenge, The Bridge Academy needs to raise $20,000 in new or increased gifts by June 30.

Here’s how it works:

• If you did not make a gift to the Bridge Academy Annual Fund during the last school year, for every $2 you donate, Bridge will receive an additional $1. For example: a gift of $50 will receive $25 in matching funds for a total gift of $75.
• If you did make an Annual Fund gift last year (thank you!), you need to increase your gift this year – by any amount— and your gift will also be matched $1 for every $2 donated.

What is the money used for?

The Annual Fund allows us to maintain the highest standards for teaching by providing for state-of-the-art staff training and curriculum development. They enable the school to provide multi-sensory learning experiences through field trips and excursions linked to the academic programs. 

For example, life science students studied some of the forensic science techniques made famous by popular television programs like CSI.  Bridge Academy students traveled to the New Jersey State Forensic Lab, Ground Zero and the Skyscraper Museum in New York to get hands-on experience and see science at work. 

For the 2008-2009 school year, monies donated to our Annual Fund were used for

• teachers professional development
• enhancing current school facilities
• enhancing our technology program
• supplies for the arts and math curriculums

Your support of our Annual Fund will help Bridge Academy students to overcome obstacles and achieve success in the school setting. Each gift is appreciated, regardless of size. The students and staff of The Bridge Academy are grateful for your contributions.

How can I donate?

• Donate online - with a credit card - Donate Now.
• Mail a Check or Money Order - Make your check payable to the "The Bridge Academy" and mail to 1958-B Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
• United Way Contributions can be dedicated to The Bridge Academy by providing them with our code number 3260015.
• Gifts of Stocks - In addition to receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of a gift of appreciated stock held 1 year or longer, donors pay no capital gains tax on the transfer of the stock to the school.
• Planned Giving - There are several types of planned giving options which would allow you to make a gift to The Bridge Academy now, receive current income stream and generate tax or estate benefits.
• Matching Gifts - Many companies offer matching gift programs that can increase the value of your donation. You can contact your or your spouse's Human Resources Department and request a matching gift form.
